You can pay in one of two ways:
- Contactless payment. Pay directly from your own bank account using a contactless debit card, or a phone running Apple Pay or Google Pay.
- UPay. Use your College ID card to pay from your UPay account, which you can top up online or through the UPay app.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to activate a UPay account?
It’s your choice. However, if you’re on the Free Meals scheme, you’ll need to activate your UPay account to access your Free Meals funding.
How do I activate my UPay account?
Download the UPay app (available for Apple and Android), or visit upay.co.uk/app. You’ll need the site Affiliate ID (LutonSfc), your Student ID or staff initials, an email address, and a password of your choice.
How do I top up my account?
Through the UPay app or website. You can make a one-off top-up, or set up automatic top-ups at regular intervals or when your balance drops to a level you set.
Can someone else top up my account for me?
Yes. Anyone with your username and affiliate ID can top up your account directly, or you can use Guest top-up to send a secure email link, so they don’t need any of your details at all.
