Music Technology Foundation Diploma

Music Technology gives you access to purpose-built recording studios and industry-standard software, developing both your technical and creative skills. Whatever your musical background, you’ll build the skills needed for a career in sound engineering, production or beyond.

What are the entry requirements?
You’ll need four GCSEs at grades 9 to 4. You'll need a grade 3 in GCSE English and a grade 3 in GCSE Maths. GCSE Music or equivalent experience is useful but not compulsory, as your skills will be assessed at interview.
What will you learn?
You'll explore computer-based sequencing, production and recording studio skills, covering units including Music Sequencing and Production, and Understanding Recording Studio Design.
Do I need to play an instrument?
No. This course is accessible to students who don't play a traditional instrument, though basic keyboard skills are useful.
What can this course lead to?
This course opens routes into sound engineering, sound design, theatre sound and commercial composition, and supports progression to music technology degrees.
