What are the entry requirements?
You'll need at least three grade 3s and one grade 2 at GCSE, including English Language. Level 2 BTEC or OCR Passes count towards this too, worth up to two GCSE grade 3s each.
What will you learn?
You'll cover fitness for sport and exercise, practical sports performance, the psychology of sport, anatomy and physiology, and how to design your own personal fitness training programme.
How will you be taught?
Through presentations, discussions, group work and practical activities. The course mixes internally assessed coursework with externally assessed exams and tasks, so good self-study habits matter.
What can this course lead to?
Students who meet the grade requirements can progress to the BTEC Level 3 Sport Diploma and on to university. Others move into sports apprenticeships or paid roles such as a recreation assistant.
